Soap

As my project was inspired by a soap sculpture I figured I would have a go at carving some bars of soap.

First of all I tried to make it into a tree, but it failed.

So I decided to do an abstract soap sculpture.

I thought this was quite successful, so I left it on the sink with a sign similar to the one in YSP, and I've took photos of it as it has deteriorated.

I also filmed some people washing their hands with the soap, just to demonstrate the process in a different way to photographs.

I quite like the use of video, and I think I'm going to use more video to document my work.

Sweet Like Chocolate

I couldn't wait to work with chocolate, obviously. To start off with I thought I would keep it simple. So, I bought a big bar of white milk and dark chocolate.
I then melted them all

I then put the melted bowls of chocolate in the middle of the table along with some sheets of paper.

Using spoons I made patterns on the paper with the chocolate.

These are the patterns I created:

With the remaining chocolate I  tried to make a 3D object. It doesn't resemble anything but it looks yummy.

These are as I am making it:

This is as its set:

These are all the designs I made once peeled off the paper, some of them broke in the process.

This is the bottom of 3D piece, I though it looked quite interesting.

Just to remind us of the impermanence theme, here is my step dad eating the chocolate:
