Ideas

I definitely want to make something that has two uses, There is quite a lot I can do with it, so I thought I should make a list of the possible things I could do. 

• Soap Sculpture (like YSP)
• Chair
• Candle
• Table
• Toilet Seat
• Glasses
• Vase
• Clothes
• Bedding/Curtains
• Brush

I quite like the idea of making a candle. Of all the things I can think of its the one that is most like the soap. I can pretty much make the candle myself, unlike the other things in the list. Those I would have to decorate, rather than make. With the candle, I could use different coloured waxes and melt them to make whatever shape/design I want. I could do that with a chair, but as this is only a short project, I don't think I would have time. I'm not particularly good at textiles, which puts me off the idea of designing bedding, or curtains. 

I quite like the idea of an art piece not being permanent, makes it more intriguing. And there is always photographs. 

I've also made the decision not to use an generic sketchbook for this project. Inspired by work I saw in the Hepworth and I also think it ties in with my concept.

YSP Surroundings

The area surrounding YSP is absolutely beautiful, so I took lots of photographs. Some of the photos are really good as the are. So I'm not going to use them as part of a project.
